Raising Awareness For Window Cord Safety
The Consumer Product Safety Commission calls corded window coverings one of the top five hidden hazards within the home. Exposed or dangling cords can pose a strangulation risk for infants, small children, and even pets who can accidentally become entangled. It is important to put cord safety at the top of your child proofing checklist.
It is our objective to help consumers become aware of the dangers of window cords and help them keep their children safe through printed materials, website articles, and more.
Ideally, older corded window coverings should be replaced with safer products that are now available. If replacing older window treatments is not an option, the instructions for retrofitting can be found on the Window Covering Safety Council’s website.
This is just one of the many ways we partner with our franchise owners to establish them as a trusted resource within their communities.
